Activity Aim
Enhance library image through a creative logo that manifests library features and ambition to connect with the world. The library logo is also a basic identification mark for the library.
Host: Ming Chuan University Library
Eligibility: All faculty and staff members, and students
Works:
1. Printed Work: Present a colorful figure of any format on a sheet of A4 paper; however, neither the length nor width of the figure should be smaller than 15 cm. The pantone color must be marked and a design statement of 200 or fewer characters included. Please mount your work on a board with no frame or notes, and attach the completed application form to the back of the board.
2. Electronic format: Print out one copy of your work vertically on A3 paper and submit your work in both AI and JPEG format at resolution higher than 300 dpi. In principle, the figure size must be bigger than 15 cm x 15 cm in standard CMYK format. Please indicate the file name and attach a CD containing your work with the application form
3. There is restriction on the number of pieces an individual may submit, but each work must have one application form attached and include a statement of the design concept (including the idea expression, the meaning of the figure and the application possibilities.)
Activity Schedule
1. Submissions Accepted: from December 1 to 30, 2016
2. Venue for submission: The front desk in the library (submitted work and application form)
3. Award announcement: Date to be announced
Evaluation Process:
First Stage: Will invite professional faculty members in the institution to select the excellent works.
Second Stage: Will ask our librarians to vote on the work they prefer. The library has the right to not award prizes if the works do not meet the required criteria.
Prizes:
First Prize: 2,000 NTD (only one) and a certificate.
Second Prize: 1,500 NTD (only one) and a certificate.
Third Prize: 1,000 NTD (only one) and a certificate.
Honorable Mention: Gifts valued at 200 NTD (Five winners) and a certificate.
Notes for participation:
1. The relevant procedures and application form may be downloaded via “Library Week Activity“ on the Library website or picked up at the Library Circulation Desk (Will be announced on December 1 on the Library website.).
2. Submissions will not be returned.
3. All the submissions must be produced by the applicants. Should an awarded work or outcome proved to be plagiarized or in violation of Copyright Law, the award will be rescinded.
4. The intellectual property rights for all submitted works will belong to MCU Library, and the authorship belongs to the respective designers. The works cannot be submitted for any other competitions.
5. All applicants who register for this activity will be assumed to agree with the above regulations, and any matters not covered above will be informed by the host separately.
